Hanwen Shi, China

Hanwen Shi, originally from Nanjing, China, embarked on his musical journey at the young age of four. In 2012, he gained admission to the prestigious middle school affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Under the tutelage of Dr.
Cheung-yu Mo, a distinguished figure in the Piano Department and director of the central Teaching and Research Office at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Hanwen honed his skills.


In 2018, he secured a significant scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music in the United States, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Alexander Korsantia. Professor Korsantia, a gold medalist from both the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition and the Sydney International Piano Competition, became Hanwen's mentor.


Throughout his academic journey, Hanwen emerged victorious in numerous domestic and international competitions, achieving championships in various events. Notably, he had the privilege of performing alongside renowned musicians such as
Lang Lang, Kong Xiangdong, and Maxim since the age of eight. Hanwen showcased his talent through solo piano concerts held both locally and internationally, including notable venues in Cottbus, Germany, New York, Osaka, Japan, and Singapore. His
exceptional performance at the TEDxYouth@Huizhan Road annual conference in June 2019 received accolades.


In November of the same year, Hanwen was invited by Benjamin Zander, the esteemed conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, to participate in an open music class, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. In 2023, his talent shone
brightly as he clinched the 2nd prize in the Artcial International Piano Competition, the 3rd prize in the Fou Tz'ong International Concerto Competition, and the 1st prize and 2nd grand prize in the Vancouver International Music Competition.
In March 2024, he won the 1 st prize of XV Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT. He also be a Participant into the Cleveland international Piano Competition and the 19 th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
