Mia Pečnik, Croatia

Mia Pečnik (20.9.2000, Zagreb) commenced learning Piano as an eight-year old and is currently under the guidance of Professor Counsellor Ivanka Kordić.

 

She is an excellent three-year student at the Vatroslav Lisinski High School of Music in Zagreb. She has performed as a soloist, in a piano duo and as a soloist with an orchestra all over Croatia, Rome, Cortemilia, Alba - Italy, Wavre - Belgium, Radlje ob Dravi – Slovenia, Šabac, Beograd – Serbia, Košice – Slovakia, Budapest, Vac – Hungary, Hagen, Aachen, Bonn, Düren - Germany, Salzburg – Austria, in London – UK and in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall – USA.

 

At 15, she had her debut with the Zagreb Philharmonic orchestra (Saint- Saëns) in the Lisinski Concert Hall under the baton of maestro Pavle Dešpalj. Last year she again appeared with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra (Grieg: Concert in a-minor, op. 16) conducted by Veton Marevcija on a charity concert which was broadcasted live on HRT (Croatian Radio Television).

 

Mia has attended masterclasses conducted by renowned pianists Yurij Kot (Ukraine), Konstantin Bogino (Russia), Eugen Indjic (France), Đorđe Stanetti, Ida Gamunin, Kemal Gekić, Danijel Detoni, Ruben Dalibaltayan (Croatia), Andreas Weber (Austria) and Heribert Koch, Lev Natochenny, Grigory Gruzman (Germany).

 

She has been awarded First Prizes at national and international solo and chamber music competitions. Her most prestigious award so far has been First Prize at the 8th and 9th EPTA International Young Pianist Competitions held in Osijek and also a first prize at the 2nd „Internazionaler Hohenlimburger Musikwettbewerb“ in Hagen – Germany, where she also won a public prize and a recital in London which was held in June 2015 as part of Notting Hill concert series. She was several times the winner of the first prize at school commpetitions and the Mira Sakač Prize, awarded by the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School to it's best students.

 

As a winner of the Grand Prize award at the American Fine Arts Festival - International Concerto Competition in 2017, she will be  performing in Carnegie Hall (New York) in March this year and will be performing in July this year with Kostroma Symphony Orchestra in Russia.
 

As the first prize winner of the "Debut International Piano Competition 2017." she was awarded a recital which will take place in May 2017 in Carnegie Hall (New York) and participation in a concert which will be held in August 2017 in Vienna.
