Emanuel Roch, Germany

The 20-year-old Emanuel Roch  grew up in Rudolstadt in Thuringia and currently attends the University for music and theater Munich. He began taking piano lessons in 2007,  soon followed by first public performances, for example with the Symphony Orchestra of Thuringia. He studied with Hartmut Sauer, Prof. Grigory Gruzman and Prof. Florian Uhlig. In 2014 he performed Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 together with the Young Symphonic Orchestra  Dresden.  Apart from playing the piano, Emanuel also dedicates himself to composing his own works, some of which have been performed in public.

 

Emanuel has won some prizes, so in 2009 he won the First Prize in the piano category and the Carl- Müllerhartung- Prize for Composition at the Music Festival Bad Sulza, at “Jugend musiziert” and Lions Piano Competition. In 2012 he won the overall prize in age group l for outstanding performance in all rounds at Bern International Piano Competition “Freestyle”, including the special prize, which consisted in a performance opportunity at the Young Euro Classic as part of the Prize Winners’ Festival 2013.  Besides he played at the Davos Festival “Young Artists in Concert” in 2013. Furthermore prices at the “International Piano Competition Rosario Marciano” Vienna 2016 and “Wiesbaden International Piano Competition” 2016 and "Future Stars International Piano Competition" 2019. Last he won the first price and public price at the "International Piano Competition of Chopin society Hannover", which includes a scholarship of the Polish Embassy in Hamburg. E.g. he had master courses with Raphael Skorka (Israel), Prof. Wilm Müller (Germany), Prof. Leonel Morales (Spain), Prof. Yuri Didenko (Russia), Prof. Andreas Kirschnereit (Germany), Jan Vogler, Prof. Peter Bruns and the famous conductor Hartmut Haenchen. Today he gets piano lessons by Prof. Antti Siirala. Since 2017 he is scholar of the "Munich Music Club".
