

Michał Basista, Poland
Born in 2004. He began studying piano at the age of four. He graduated with distinction from the Fryderyk Chopin High Music School in Kraków. He is currently pursuing his studies at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków. For over ten years, he has been under the artistic guidance of dr hab. Milena Kędra, AMKP Professor.
He is a recipient of the Special Prize at the 2nd Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition (NOSPR, Poland) and a semi-finalist of the following competitions: the 2024 Borderland Chopin International Competition (Texas, USA), the 53rd National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (NIFC, Poland), and the 12th International Piano Competition for Young Pianists "Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam" (Poland).
He has refined his skills under the tutelage of renowned musicians such as Andrzej Jasiński, Janusz Olejniczak, Angela Hewitt, Nikolai Demidenko, Marc Laforet, Philippe Giusiano, Kevin Kenner, and Ewa Pobłocka.
He has performed recitals at prestigious venues including NOSPR (Poland), Steinway Piano Gallery in Warsaw, Kawai Showroom in Warsaw, the Royal Castle in Warsaw and Kraków, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Kraków Philharmonic. As a soloist, he has twice performed with the Lviv Chamber Orchestra.
He is a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the National Children’s Fund (currently Fundusz ZDOLNI), and Rotary Club Kraków for his artistic achievements. He has qualified for the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
