Gabrielle Hsu, USA
17-year-old Gabrielle Hsu has been studying piano since age 4. She made her orchestral debut at age 10 and has appeared in Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in New York City multiple times for solo and chamber music performances as a laureate of various competitions. She was also invited to perform for the Chopin Society of Connecticut in 2011 after receiving 2nd Prize in the II Hartford International Chopin Piano Competition.
Among her many competition awards, Gabrielle most recently received First Place in the 2016 Greater Princeton Steinway Society Scholarship Competition, and top honors in the VII Hartford International Chopin Piano Competition and West Chester University Piano Competition. She was also named the New Jersey State Alternate for the 2015-2016 MTNA Senior Piano Performance Competition. Her other First Prize wins also include New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMTA) Young Musicians Competition, Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, South Jersey Steinway Young Artists Competition, and Young Pianist Competition of New Jersey. She was also a Silver Medalist in Bravura Philharmonic Young Artist Concerto Competition and Second Prize winner of III Connecticut International Young Artists Competition.
Gabrielle had performed in master classes of Krystian Tkaczewski, Alexander Kobrin, Victor Rosenbaum, Massimiliano Ferrati, Jose Ramos Santana, Claire Huangci, Nina Tichman, Douglas Humpherys, Thomas Schumacher, Robert Durso, Peter Mack, and Ingrid Clarfield. She also took lesson with Meng-Chieh Liu (2016), and was in a 10-week study program at Center for Musical Excellence under Min Kwon and Alexander Beridze (2010). Gabrielle currently studies with Dr. Chiu-Ling Lin; she previously studied with Veda Zuponcic.
